Summary
This online article summarizes a research study which compared mothers of children with autism only to mothers of children with autism and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Mothers of children with co-occurring psychiatric conditions had poorer mental health, higher levels of burden, poorer sleep, more stomach-related symptoms, and poorer relationships with their children.

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research group, based out of York University, writes summaries of research studies on autism and developmental disabilities to inform parents, individuals with autism, practitioners, and the general public on recent findings about autism.
