Narrower Vision in Children with ASD
Author
Caitlin Siu; Jonathan Lai
Summary
This online article summarizes a research study which suggests that children with autism have difficulty perceiving stimuli with their peripheral vision. This finding is interpreted as being consistent with the suggestion that autistic individuals may have difficulty with processing "big picture," global information.
The Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research group, based out of York University, writes summaries of research studies on autism and developmental disabilities to inform parents, individuals with autism, practitioners, and the general public on recent findings about autism.
