Summary
This online article provides a summary of a research study that examined several factors that may impact the attendance of parents of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in parent support groups. Results indicate that parents who were participating in support groups reported stronger beliefs about potential benefits, and greater support from others, than parents who were not participating in support groups.

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research group, based out of York University, writes summaries of research studies on autism and developmental disabilities to inform parents, individuals with autism, practitioners, and the general public on recent findings about autism.
