Summary
This online article provides a brief summary of a research study that examined whether parents could reduce problem behaviors in their child with autism by changing their own behaviors during interactions with them. Upon completion of the mindfulness training course, the mothers reported that their child's aggression, noncompliance, and self-injurious behaviors decreased.

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research group, based out of York University, writes summaries of research studies on autism and developmental disabilities to inform parents, individuals with autism, practitioners, and the general public on recent findings about autism.
