Compass Mental Health
Summary
This is a toolkit for healthcare providers on self-injurious behaviour. "Self-injurious behaviour (SIB) such as head banging, biting and/or hitting oneself is common among certain populations with Autism and Intellectual Impairments. This toolkit does not address non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), e.g. cutting/burning/self-harm, which can occur in populations with depression, anxiety or personality disorders. This toolkit focuses on self-injurious behaviour expressed by children and youth with neurological diagnoses and conditions."
